Christ Our Hope Teams
Church, congregation, portfolio, and worshipping community* teams plan and lead mission and ministry. Portfolio teams include Justice, Children, Families and Youth, School Assemblies and Pastoral.
Church PCCs continue to lead in governance, with the Shadow PCC (which has met since June 2023) preparing for the anticipated change, to a single PCC for the larger single parish. In 2024, subcommittees of the PCC were also established bringing together Church Wardens, Parish Safeguarding Officers and Finance Leads from each church.
In May 2024, we also launched a Local Leadership Team for each church. A leadership team will be primarily focused on people and how more people are able to meet Jesus, be discipled, grow into leadership roles of all kinds and engage with bringing justice in our communities and the world. Once the PCC for the larger single parish is established, the Local Leadership Team, as their name suggests, will lead the mission and ministry of their church or worshipping community.
One of the key principles within Fit for Mission is that nobody should shoulder the burden of leadership alone; everyone should feel part of a mutually supportive and accountable team.
The Navigation Team are responsible for the planning and implementation of this transformational change programme. During the first two years of the change programme, the Navigation Team will be supported locally by a change facilitator and an administrator.

By centralising and streamlining the administration in Christ Our Hope the parish will not only be more efficient and compliant but will also make the best use of the time and talents of the clergy and the volunteers freeing up more time to bring the Good News of Jesus to the local communities.
Clergy will be freed up from administrative tasks that will be completed by the Support Services Team. This will enable the clergy and laity to work together across the new larger parish to introduce more people to introduce people to Jesus, deepen discipleship, develop future Christian leaders and work for justice.
Angelika and Sue were appointed in July 2024 and are the first members of our Support Services Team.

The Growth Team have been responsible for the implementation of the Cultivate Pathway with support from the Cultivate Lead. Cultivate has been a means to develop, train and support lay leaders. The Growth Team have also been promoting engagement with ‘pyramid reviews’ for each worshipping community, and the development and implementation of an annual Mission Plan for the larger parish.

The Right Buildings Team have completed the Right Buildings proposal for the deanery. This has been a significant piece of work that involved listening to church and local communities, and broad assessment of opportunities for each current building. The team made a best option proposal that offered the best opportunity for the gospel to be received across the whole of the larger parish. Proposals were taken to Deanery Synod for consideration and approval.
Revd Canon Emma Williams is now working with churches and giving oversight to implementation, supported in this change by specialist staff employed by the Diocese with Fit for Mission funding.

Along the FFM journey, different areas where we can work together have emerged, with key individuals taking a lead in these areas.
