What an encouraging summer it has been across Christ Our Hope Liverpool! From community celebrations and family events to exciting new opportunities for mission, there has been plenty to thank God for and celebrate together.
At the heart of this season is Funding the Future, a new initiative that has seen the parish receive £40,000 from the Diocese of Liverpool to support mission and long-term sustainability. Inspired by Jesus’ picture of the mustard seed, the vision is simple: small acts of faithfulness can grow into something far bigger than we imagine. Through a range of local projects and shared parish initiatives, we’re praying that these seeds will help more people discover belonging, hospitality and the love of Christ.
It’s also been a summer packed with memorable moments. We celebrated the licensing of Will Gibbons as Team Rector, enjoyed festivals, fetes, BBQs, weddings and family fun days, and rejoiced as Kirsty Fazakerley was ordained priest at Liverpool Cathedral. Across our churches, communities have been gathering, serving and sharing life together in wonderful ways.
We’re also delighted to welcome three new Youth Scholars, Reuben, Ethan R and Tony, who have joined the Children and Youth Hub. Their energy, gifts and enthusiasm will help strengthen ministry with children and young people across the deanery.
As autumn approaches, there’s plenty to look forward to, including the Parish Gathering, Youth Residential and a range of opportunities to connect, serve and grow together. If this summer has shown us anything, it’s that God is continuing to work through ordinary people, faithful communities and small seeds of hope planted across our parish.
Because sometimes the biggest stories begin with the smallest seeds. 🌱
